Position Responsibilities

With a focus on client engagement, you will conduct field-based assessments to determine the client's vulnerability and risk factors.

Following the assessment, you will attempt to provide immediate support for a client's basic needs and navigation through local service systems such as emergency shelters, health care, addiction treatment, and housing.

If necessary, the client will either be provided necessities or taken to a safe space or health facility to address the danger or health issue they are facing.

You will perform other departmental duties as directed by the Mobile Outreach Manager or their designate.

Qualifications

High School Diploma

Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check

Valid Alberta Drivers License – Class 5 (or equivalent) no more than 6 demerits.

Satisfactory Drivers Abstract

Excellent communication skills – orally and written

Advanced conflict resolution skills

Experience dealing with the vulnerable population

Ability to interpret/apply policy & procedure

Solid interviewing and assessment skills

Knowledge of computers and related applications is desirable





Desirable training includes: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, De-escalation Training, Standard First Aid/CPR, Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone Training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, ICSo 100, ICSo 200, Verbal Judo.

Hours– Casual Position
Primarily on a call-in basis,with hours occasionally scheduled in advance to cover known absences.Standard hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 0700–1900 hrs,excluding statutory holidays. Applicants must haveavailability to pick up day and evening shifts within these hours, basedon operational needs.

Wage
Starting salary $31.30 per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
