About the Job The Registered Nurse:
Provides nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
Maintains and advances own clinical competence




Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

Relief Full Time Opportunity This is a Relief Full Time (1.00) opportunity until April 01, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shift Schedule Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:45, 19:30 to 07:45 hours.

About this Location Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.

Our Intensive Care and Step-Down Unit is a beautiful, state-of-the-art department consisting of 17 private patient rooms, five of which are negative-pressure isolation rooms. The fully equipped ICU provides an aesthetically appealing environment for patients and features a new family entrance, a waiting area and quiet room for family privacy, improved functional design, enhanced infection control and support space for the staff. RNs work 12-hour shifts with HCA support.

Qualfications Graduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.
