RX Dental is a specialized family office serving pharmacists, dentists, and physicians through two coordinated companies: RX Dental Accountants and RX Dental Wealth Management.

We are growing and looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager who wants to do more than review tax returns. This is an opportunity to advise successful healthcare professionals and practice owners, lead a developing accounting team, and help shape the future of our specialized tax and wealth management firms.
Location: Mississauga or Barrie, Ontario
Work arrangement: Hybrid, three days in office and two days working from home
Compensation: $140,000 to $180,000 in total annual fixed compensation
Bonus: Target of 10%, with the prospect to earn up to 20%
What You Will Do
Lead Client Relationships
Take ownership of key client relationships and become a trusted advisor. Communicate complex tax matters in plain language, provide proactive guidance, and deliver a premium client experience.
Develop Tax Strategies
Identify, develop, and present corporate and personal tax-planning strategies tailored to each client’s business, family, and long-term financial objectives.
Provide Advanced Tax Advice
Advise clients on corporate reorganizations, compensation planning, succession planning, and other advanced tax strategies. Coordinate implementation with lawyers and other professional advisors.
Advise on Practice Acquisitions and Startups
Guide healthcare professionals through practice acquisitions and new practice startups. Depending on the engagement, this may include due diligence, structuring the transaction, evaluating financing options, developing financial projections, and supporting the client through closing while coordinating with lenders, lawyers, vendors, and other professional advisors.
Oversee Tax Compliance
Review T1, T2, T3, GST/HST/PST returns and oversee all compilation engagements under CSRS 4200, issued through a CPA Professional Corporation.
Lead and Develop the Team
Coach and mentor accounting professionals, provide technical guidance, review work, establish clear expectations, and conduct regular performance reviews.
Build Training Programs
Develop and deliver structured training that strengthens technical knowledge, client-service skills, and the onboarding experience for new team members.
Improve the Firm
Collaborate with the firm’s partners on process improvements,
technology adoption, service development, workflow visibility, and strategic growth initiatives.
Support Business Development
Recognize opportunities to support clients through the firm’s tax, accounting, advisory, and wealth management services. Help grow the tax practice by developing existing relationships and contributing to new business opportunities.
What You Bring
A CPA designation with membership in good standing with CPA Ontario
Completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program
A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in a Canadian public-accounting firm
At least five years focused on Canadian corporate and personal taxation
At least three years of experience managing or supervising an accounting team
Experience independently managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients
Demonstrated experience developing and presenting advanced tax-planning strategies
Experience taking corporate reorganizations from planning through implementation
Strong technical tax research and problem-solving abilities
Experience reviewing T1, T2, T3, GST/HST/PST returns
Experience preparing and overseeing compilation engagement reports under CSRS4200
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, TaxCycle, Hubdoc, and Caseware
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
The ability to explain complex tax matters in clear, practical language
An interest in business development and growing a specialized tax practice
Residency in Ontario and the ability to work from our Mississauga or Barrie office three days a week
Candidates considered at the upper end of the compensation range will have demonstrated experience leading a tax practice, managing senior client relationships, developing new business, advising on complex transactions, and operating with a high degree of independence.

Compensation and Benefits
$140,000 to $180,000 in total annual fixed compensation, based on experience and the scope of responsibilities assumed
Performance-based bonus with a target of 10% and the opportunity to earn up to 20%
Four weeks of annual vacation
Every Friday off during July and August
Office closure during the Christmas holidays, in addition to regular vacation
CPA annual membership dues covered
Continuing education support
Combined Health Spending Account and taxable wellness benefit of up to $2,500 annually
Hybrid work arrangement with two work-from-home days per week

The performance-based bonus recognizes contributions to client service, team development, workflow management, firm objectives, new business, and practice growth.
Employment Structure
This position can be structured in one of two ways, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, professional structure, and the responsibilities assumed.
Hybrid Employee and Subcontractor Structure
Under this arrangement, the candidate will operate as an employee under RX Dental Wealth Management to provide tax & advisory services to our clients, as well as a subcontractor through their CPA Professional Corporation, registered with CPA Ontario, as required. If the successful candidate does not currently have a CPA Professional Corporation, we will assist with establishing one and cover the related setup fees and annual dues.
Fully Subcontracted Structure
The successful candidate may instead provide all services under a full-time subcontractor agreement through their CPA Professional Corporation. If the successful candidate does not currently have a CPA Professional Corporation, we will assist with establishing one and cover the related setup fees and annual dues.
