Forward-Deployed AI Strategist

You'll be the person who understands a client's business better than anyone else on our team, and the leader who turns that understanding into AI workflows our engineers can build against. You'll embed in the client's working life: pulled into their internal meetings, present in their communication channels, treated as one of their own rather than a vendor on a cadence. You'll sit with their operators, learn how work actually flows (not the org-chart version), and surface real pain points, processes, and systems worth automating.

Then you'll translate all of it into workflow designs, skill specs, and connector requirements that engineers can execute without waiting on external partners for every decision.

This role exists to close the gap between the client and the build. Our engineers work primarily in the background shipping systems, but they shouldn't be the ones absorbing operational context firsthand. You're the embedded layer that carries that context faithfully in both directions, owns what gets built and why, and owns the ROI story from baseline to realized value.

The governing principle: you can delegate the code, but never the client conversation. Engineers own how things get built, and you own what should be built, why, and whether it actually moved the needle.

This is a remote-first, traits-first role. We care far more about the ability to walk into a messy operation and impose clarity than about a specific title or background. From first discovery, to a live and adopted workflow, to the next high-leverage thing we can automate, owning that arc is the work that excites us every single day.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Embed in client operations - get pulled into internal meetings, live in their Slack channels, and become a trusted internal resource rather than an outside vendor.
- Run deep workflow discovery with client operators to map how work actually flows, surfacing the real pain points, processes, and the data and systems involved.
- Translate that understanding into AI workflow designs, Claude skill specs, and connector requirements that engineers can build against.
- Own the scope and acceptance criteria for each workflow, defining what gets built, why, and what "positive" looks like.
- Act as the embedded translation layer between client and engineers, answering "what would the client want here?" internally so the build never stalls waiting on access.
- Establish a clear before-state baseline for every workflow (time, cost, error rate, throughput,



or other relevant metrics).
- Instrument and own the ROI story end to end, making the value case legible, modellable, and defensible.
- Carry enough operational context that engineers can build, refine, and ship for days at a time without direct client access.
- Prototype and sketch workflows conceptually, and speak credibly to both client and engineers about what's realistically buildable.
- Partner with account management on account health while owning operational truth and technical-workflow direction of engagements.
- Continuously hunt for next high-leverage workflows to expand engagements.
- Turn engagement learnings into reusable assets (runbooks, reference workflow designs, prompt patterns, and ROI frameworks) that make Levanta's playbook stronger and more repeatable.
- Own the full arc of every workflow you touch, from discovery to scoping, to building (with engineers), to deployment, to measurement, to iterations.

What You Offer (Requirements)

- A track record of owning ambiguous, open-ended problems. You can walk into a messy client operation and impose clarity without being handed a structure.
- Strong operational and process instinct. You naturally see how work flows and where the friction and leverage points are.
- Excellent at earning trust with operators and stakeholders, then translating what you learn into something an engineer can act on.
- Genuinely AI-literate. You are comfortable reasoning about LLM workflows, prompting, and what connectors and Claude skills can and can't do, enough to scope and design without writing code.
- Self-directed and introspective, comfortable leading the client and following the engineers' technical lead as appropriate.
- Genuinely curious about how a business operates. You want to internalize it, not just collect requirements.
- A bias toward measured outcomes. You instinctively ask what the baseline is and whether the work actually moved it.
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to carry context faithfully across people who don't share each other's vocabulary.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote, client-driven environment.

Nice to Have

- Experience as an operator who moved into solutions, implementation, or delivery work.
- A management-consulting background, especially if you'd rather drive measurable ROI than produce slides.




- Product management or business analysis experience in a process-heavy domain.
- Hands-on experience designing or prototyping AI/LLM workflows, agents, or automations.
- Familiarity with connectors, integrations, or no-/low-code automation tooling.
- Experience defining and tracking ROI or operational metrics for a process you owned.
- Exposure to enterprise environments.
- Business and/or CS degree or equivalent practical experience.

Tools & Environment Claude and frontier LLMs, agent skills, MCP and other connectors/integrations, Slack, Linear, Asana, Notion, Loom, Google Workspace.

- Engagements expand as you continue to seek out and discover high-leverage workflows.
- Engineers rarely have to ask the client a question you couldn't already answer.
- Your runbooks, reference designs, and frameworks get reused on future engagements.
