BMS Energietechnik AG develops and manufactures high-efficiency eXergie Booster Heat Pumps in Switzerland for the decarbonization of buildings and industrial applications.

Our eXm technology efficiently upgrades low-temperature waste heat and other energy sources to useful temperature levels for heating and domestic hot water applications.

Refrigeration Technician / Refrigeration Mechanic (m/f/d)

who is interested in a technically challenging international assignment and a long-term career opportunity in Canada.

Your Responsibilities

After intensive training at our headquarters in Wilderswil, Switzerland, you will play an important technical role in establishing our production operations in Canada.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assembly of our eXm Booster Heat Pumps
- Assembly, testing and commissioning of refrigeration circuits
- Installation, brazing and connection of refrigerant piping
- Brazing of refrigeration piping
- Evacuation and vacuuming of refrigeration circuits
- Leak testing and pressure testing
- Charging systems with refrigerant, particularly R513A
- Start-up and functional testing of Booster Heat Pumps
- Troubleshooting and technical optimization
- Final inspection and documentation of completed machines
- Supporting the standardization of production and testing procedures
- Building technical know-how within the Canadian production team
- Training and mentoring other technicians
- Supporting commissioning and service activities throughout North America
- Close cooperation with our engineering and production team in Switzerland

You will therefore play an active role in transferring Swiss technology and manufacturing know-how to our new North American production organization.

What You BringRequired

- Completed technical training as a Refrigeration Technician, Refrigeration Mechanic, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, HVAC/R Technician, Refrigeration Engineer/Technologist, or comparable qualification
- Several years of hands-on experience in commercial/industrial refrigeration or heat pump technology




- Strong practical knowledge of refrigeration circuits
- Experience with compressors, expansion valves and heat exchangers
- Practical experience with evacuation, vacuuming and refrigerant charging
- Valid brazing qualification / brazing certification for refrigeration systems
- Experience performing refrigeration piping brazing in accordance with applicable safety and industry standards
- Independent, precise and responsible working style
- Positive English communication skills
- Willingness to undertake a long-term assignment and/or relocate to Canada

Preferred

- Experience with industrial heat pumps or Booster Heat Pumps
- Experience with R513A, R134a or comparable refrigerants
- Experience with larger refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of controls and instrumentation
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Experience with equipment assembly and commissioning
- French language skills are an advantage
- Experience training, supervising or mentoring other technicians

Your Opportunity

This is not a conventional service technician position.

You will have the opportunity to be involved from the beginning in the establishment of a current technology and production organization in North America.

Our eXm Booster Heat Pump technology was developed in Switzerland. We are now bringing this technology to North America and establishing our own production and service organization in Brossard, near Montréal.

You will first become familiar with our technology and production processes directly in Switzerland. You will then become part of the team responsible for manufacturing and implementing this technology in Canada.

Your Path to Canada1. Training in Switzerland

You will receive intensive training at our headquarters in Wilderswil, Switzerland, learning our eXm Booster Heat Pump technology, production processes and quality requirements.

2. Establishment Phase in Brossard





You will then work primarily at our new production facility in Brossard / Montréal, Québec, helping establish the manufacturing operation.

3. Long-Term Perspective

Our objective is to build a strong and independent North American production organization.

This position therefore offers a long-term career perspective in Canada, with opportunities to grow with the organization.

BMS will support you with the necessary organizational steps related to your transition and employment in Québec.
