Role Description The Associate will be responsible for managing a family law caseload, including drafting pleadings, motions, settlement proposals, and correspondence. Daily tasks include conducting legal research, preparing for hearings and mediations, communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and third-party professionals, and participating in strategy meetings. The Associate will work closely with senior attorneys to develop case plans, evaluate settlement options, and support holistic resolutions that prioritize client well-being.

This is a full-time remote role, requiring consistent availability during standard business hours, effective time management, and regular virtual collaboration with team members and clients. The Associate will also contribute to firm initiatives such as process improvements,



client education materials, and community outreach efforts related to family law and wellness.

Qualifications

- Strong family law knowledge, including experience with divorce, custody, support, and related matters, and the ability to apply statutes and case law to complex fact patterns.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills, including drafting pleadings, motions, agreements, and client communications with clarity and precision.
- Client-centered communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to explain legal concepts and options in accessible language.
- Negotiation, mediation, and conflict-resolution skills, with a focus on collaborative, solutions-oriented outcomes that support long-term family wellness.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, including managing multiple cases, meeting deadlines, and working effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with legal practice management tools, document management systems, and virtual collaboration platforms; comfort with video conferencing for client and team meetings.
- Commitment to trauma-informed practice, cultural humility, and non-discriminatory representation for clients from diverse backgrounds and family structures.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction; prior family law experience or demonstrated interest in the field strongly preferred.
