About the Role: Senior Data Analyst, Merchandise Procurement This position centres on building and maintaining the data infrastructure and analytical models that power vendor negotiations and procurement decision-making at Canadian Tire. You'll integrate multiple internal and external data sources, develop cost indices and projections , and produce vendor funds and spend analytics that give CTC's merchandise teams a real edge at the negotiating table. Your work will span reporting , data modelling , dashboard visualization , and automated data pipelines — all aimed at making procurement smarter and more agile.
Beyond individual analysis, you'll champion data quality, data integrity, and governance standards across procurement datasets. You'll participate in PI planning, help architect and lead the transition from EDW to iHub, and support Enterprise Sourcing Management (ESM) with data migration and ETL efforts. This is a role that blends hands-on technical execution with strategic influence over how the organization manages and trusts its data.

Job Details Responsibilities In this role, you'll touch every layer of the procurement data lifecycle — from raw data ingestion and pipeline automation through to polished dashboards and strategic analytical models. Your outputs will directly inform how Canadian Tire negotiates with vendors and plans its sourcing strategy, making accuracy and reliability non-negotiable in everything you deliver.
Develop and maintain reports, data products, and analytical models that support vendor negotiations , procurement performance tracking, and market condition analysis
Build and manage automated data pipelines using SQL, Knime, or similar technologies to support reliable, timely data delivery
Champion data quality, data integrity, and governance standards across procurement datasets to ensure information is accurate, reliable, and actionable
Architect and lead EDW to iHub transition efforts, contributing to robust data architecture and integration frameworks
Integrate multiple internal and external data sources,



including international commodity indices and CTC enterprise data, to support strategic decision-making
Support Enterprise Sourcing Management (ESM) with data migration and ETL efforts
Leverage modern analytics platforms, AI technologies, and self-service analytics capabilities to enhance predictive decision-making
Participate in PI planning and contribute to forecasting, vendor performance analysis, and decision support models
Requirements / Skills The ideal candidate brings a strong quantitative foundation combined with expert-level SQL skills and hands-on experience building data models and visualization tools. Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline
3+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, marketing analytics, performance measurement, or a related field
Expert SQL skills with demonstrated experience querying, transforming, and validating large datasets
Extensive experience building and maintaining reports, data modelling, and dashboard visualization
Expert knowledge of dimensional modelling concepts, including fact and dimension tables and star schema design
Expert experience developing automated data pipelines using SQL, Knime, or similar technologies
Azure Synapse Analytics or similar modern analytics platform experience is highly desirable
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills , with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
