Your Team

Join the System Operations Control Centre (SOCC) team at Flair as a Duty Officer, where you will play a key role in overseeing day-of operations and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of our flight schedule. Reporting to the Manager, OCC, you will work closely with CSC, Crew Scheduling, Dispatch, MCC, and other operational teams to coordinate daily activities, manage irregular operations (IROPs), and act as a key point of escalation when operational issues arise. This is a hands-on role that requires strong communication, sound decision-making, and the ability to remain organized and effective in a fast-paced operational environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position that is based at our Toronto (YYZ) office A Day In The Life

As a Duty Officer, you will:

- Monitor day-of operations for flights, communicating delays, irregular operations (IROPs), or any changes to relevant department heads.
- Ensure that daily tasks are progressing on schedule and completed in a timely manner.
- Oversee the company’s flight operations software to ensure accurate data entry and operations.
- Investigate and code delays for all flights, resolving discrepancies when stakeholders submit additional information.
- Distribute IROP emails to all relevant departments and bases.
- Conduct cost analysis of all IROPs and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate cross-departmental efforts during normal operations and IROPs to ensure high standards of customer service.
- Demonstrate leadership by proactively managing operations and ensuring smooth day-to-day functions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all operational IROPs,



providing guidance and solutions.
- Plan and manage the recovery of all IROPs, incorporating input from multiple functions.
- Manage slot assignments to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
- Oversee AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and Return to Service processes, ensuring quick resolutions.
- Manage spare utilization, ensuring productive use of resources.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports as required by the SOCC Manager and Director.
- Identify and address potential concerns for the upcoming week’s flight schedule.
- Participate in mandatory team meetings and annual recurrent training sessions.
- Perform other duties and assignments as required to support SOCC operations.

What You Bring To The Role The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

- Experience:

- Previous experience in an Airline Operations Centre or Airport Operations is preferred.
- Possession of a valid First Aid certification is an asset; however, the ability to pass and obtain a basic First Aid certificate is required.
- Possession of a current Transport Canada Flight Dispatcher certificate is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) applicable to 705 operations.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- Skills and Abilities:

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-stress, deadline-driven, ever-changing work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.




- Ability to think outside the box and propose new ideas and solutions, showcasing a proactive and forward-thinking approach.
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

- Requirements:

- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
