NATURE OF THE WORK The position of education consultant encompasses responsibility for providing advice and support to staff of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development, and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials within the Quebec Ministry of Education Digital Action Plan framework.

CHARACTERISTICS The education consultant participates in carrying out the educational project and the special projects of educa-tional institutions; he or she participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of their success plan, while complying with the academic and administrative requirements of both the educational institutions and the school board.

He or she contributes to the implementation of programs of study and training, provides advice to the teachers and administration concerning the interpretation of those programs, designs and leads training workshops and sessions on program components; he or she collaborates in developing learning situations and supports experi-mentation in class.

Provides advice and support to teachers either individually or in a group format in matters pertaining to their daily teaching activities.

Develops or selects and delivers training and instrumentation activities designed to respond to needs in pedagogi-cal adaptation, innovation, and development.

Provides teachers with learning evaluation tools and guides them in the design, preparation,



or adaptation of evalu-ation tools.

Advises management, teaching or professional staff on matters pertaining to professional development program plans the programs and evaluates the results.

Analyzes and recommends the purchase of learning materials, supplementary materials, equipment, software, and program packages, and provides advice on room layouts.

Collaborates with other school resources, partner organizations and the Minister of Education.

Board Requirements

- Must be fluently bilingual (representation of the Continu-ing Education department at various levels)
- Working knowledge of SAE (Service aux entreprises) & RAC (Reconnaissance des acquis) is required as they are interconnected to support various educational pathways for adult learners;
- Knowledge of the competency-based approach;
- Robust interpersonal skills with the ability to support can-didates and work with industry partners;
- Experience in the Adult and Vocational education sector would be an asset;
- Presentation skills and ability to lead workshops;
- Team player and team builder;
- Leadership skills;
- Working knowledge of EXCEL and other financial tracking software;

Must provide own transportation to travel to various meetings, conferences and events within the province Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty; notably in Education or Vocational Training and a Quebec teaching license (brevet)
