Atkinson Construction is hiring experienced Commercial Carpenters, including Red Seal and Journeyman certified tradespeople, for work in Edmonton, St. Albert and the surrounding area.

We are expanding our self-perform field team and are looking for productive carpenters with hands-on commercial experience in concrete formwork, foundations, framing, layout and general carpentry. This position is suited to someone who wants stable local employment, wide-ranging construction experience and the opportunity to take on more responsibility as the company grows.

What you will do




- Perform commercial concrete formwork, foundation and general carpentry work
- Assist with layout, forming, framing and related self-performed scopes
- Read and interpret drawings and site instructions
- Complete assigned work accurately and productively
- Coordinate with site leadership and other members of the field team
- Maintain strong safety, workmanship and housekeeping standards
- Identify material, layout or constructability concerns early
- Support apprentices and labourers when required

What we are looking for
- At least three years of relevant hands-on commercial carpentry experience
- Experience with concrete formwork, foundations, framing or commercial layout
- Ability to perform assigned work with limited supervision
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Journeyman Carpenter or Red Seal certification is an asset
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Strong attendance, reliability and communication
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Experienced non-ticketed carpenters and senior apprentices may be considered where their commercial experience demonstrates that they can contribute productively.
