Empower Simcoe is hiring a Family Support Worker to support children with developmental challenges. This 30-hour week contract requires evening availability and focuses on family engagement.

In this meaningful role, you'll act as a resource for families facing challenges, helping them navigate social services and educational systems. Applicants should possess a BSW or B.A. in Social Science and a solid background of 2-3 years in relevant experience. A deep understanding of the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities is vital as you collaborate with families to formulate effective management strategies and Individual Family Service Plans.

Key Responsibilities:
• Establish supportive relationships with families




• Develop and implement Individual Family Service Plans (I.F.S.P.)
• Oversee case management and facilitate community resource access
• Coordinate advocacy efforts with school teams
• Provide education and support for local agencies

Requirements:
• Degree in Social Science (BSW or B.A.)
• 2-3 years of relevant support experience
• Knowledge of developmental and intellectual disabilities
• Valid G class driver's license
• Reliable transportation necessary
