Join VNFC as an Aboriginal Supported Child Development Consultant, providing valuable outreach to Indigenous children with special needs and their families in urban areas.

As a consultant on the ASCDN Team, you will engage in a holistic approach to support the physical, cognitive, and emotional development of Indigenous children. Your role includes collaborating with families and childcare providers, conducting detailed assessments, and implementing child-specific programs that prioritize cultural humility. Your commitment to inclusivity will foster growth and resilience within Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Establish supportive relationships with families
• Observe and gather data on children's needs




• Formulate individual development plans with stakeholders
• Guide childcare providers in inclusive methodologies
• Evaluate and report on child development outcomes

Requirements:
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or similar
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in childcare
• Experience with Indigenous communities strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Valid BC Driver’s license and First Aid training
