Senior Project Management Specialist to coordinate the overall implementation of a new supervisory mandate for a crown corporation client
Our crown corporation client is seeking a Senior Project Management Specialist to coordinate the overall implementation of a new supervisory mandate including developing, maintaining, and evolving integrated work plans, schedules, and delivery strategies.

Initial 1-year contract in Ottawa, ON. Hybrid onsite (12 days/month on-site), with strong possibility of an additional 1-year contract extension. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.The successful candidate must hold or be eligible for a Government of Canada Reliability Status.

Responsibilities

Provide project management expertise for all project activities by working with internal and external stakeholders, project team members and groups across the organization using proven project management best practices and methodologies

Coordinate the overall implementation of new supervisory mandate, including developing, maintaining, and evolving integrated work plans, schedules, and delivery strategies

Drive the planning and execution of project workstreams across policy, operations, and technology

Coordinate business activities related to the technology workstream and work closely with the IT Program Lead during planning, solution selection, configuration, implementation, and transition to operational support

Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks, issues, and interdependencies while delivering defined scope and work plans within established quality standards and timelines

Shape delivery reporting, performance indicators, and escalation mechanisms to support timely and informed decision‑making

Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to proactively identify delivery risks and develop viable mitigation strategies

Provide regular project status updates on progress and value delivery to senior management and/or the sponsor/client

Ensure all project deliverables are completed, including all related documentation and processes

Support go‑live readiness activities and implementation hand‑offs for assigned workstreams, ensuring operational, supervisory, and technical readiness criteria are met

Must Haves

10+ years years of demonstrated experience contributing to large, complex, multi-year projects involving more than 40 project team members and managing multiple concurrent initiatives across policy, business process, operational, and technology domains





4+ years of recent demonstrated project management experience supporting complex business and technology initiatives

5+ years of demonstrated experience delivering strategic projects using Agile or hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) delivery methodologies

Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating project risks, issues, dependencies, and interdependencies

Demonstrated experience producing clear, concise and professional documentation for both senior leadership and technical audiences

Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and discussions to achieve consensus, resolve issues, and advance project objectives

Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and managing integrated project plans, schedules, dependencies, and delivery roadmaps across multiple workstreams

Technical Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud-based solutions and services, gained through experience supporting or participating in Azure technology implementation projects.

Education

University degree or college diploma in information technology, project management, or business analysis
