Located in N.E. Calgary, the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC) is an acute care hospital offering both inpatient and outpatient services. The PLC has over 600 inpatient beds, including Medical, Surgical, Pediatrics, Women’s Health and Critical Care. The PLC is the Vascular Centre for Southern Alberta, Southwestern Saskatchewan and Southeastern British Columbia. The Allied Health Department at the PLC is comprised of Rehabilitation and Spiritual Care staff. These staff work as vital members of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient and family-centered care throughout the hospital.Under general supervision from the Clinical Leader and Allied Health management, the successful candidate will gain experience in the assessment, treatment, education and management of patients across a variety of areas, primarily focused on the Transition and Geriatric/Older Adult Medicine units. This position requires the successful incumbent to supervise and provide program facilitation to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides, as well as unit staff. Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload to keep pace in a busy multi-disciplinary patient care. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with program development. Experience with geriatric /older adult population.
