Lighting Controls Technician / Controls Specialist
Multiple Opportunities | British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario
The exact role will vary by client, but these positions will generally involve troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, supporting, and/or programming lighting and control systems.

Responsibilities

Configure, test, commission, and troubleshoot lighting control systems

Troubleshoot dimming systems, sensors, controllers, networking, and other control components

Read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and lighting layouts

Support system design, product selection, configuration, and project documentation

Program or commission building automation, HVAC, or other control systems

Work with contractors, electricians, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers, and customers

Provide technical support by phone, email, or on site

Perform field troubleshooting, startup, testing, and commissioning

Document technical issues, testing, configurations, and solutions

Train customers, contractors, or building operators where required

Qualifications

2+ years of relevant technical experience

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills





Ability to read or learn to read electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, or technical documentation

Comfortable learning technical software and control-system interfaces

CAD, AGi32, networking, PLC, or programming experience is an asset

Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Automation, or related education is an asset

Robust communication and customer-service skills

Valid driver's licence may be required for some positions

Required Skills

Lighting controls, architectural lighting, or dimming

DMX, stage, entertainment, or event lighting

Building automation / BMS / BAS

HVAC controls

AV / AV controls

Smart home or smart building systems

Low-voltage, security, or other technical systems

Strong troubleshooting skills
