About the Role This ML Developer role sits inside a leading energy and utilities organization and is focused on building, optimizing, and deploying machine learning models and data pipelines that solve real business problems.

The work spans the full ML lifecycle, from participating in early experiments and prototypes through to production deployment, monitoring, and drift detection, all within an AWS environment and with a strong emphasis on software development best practices.

The ideal candidate brings at least three years of hands-on AI/ML project delivery paired with solid software engineering fundamentals, including test-driven development and CI/CD.

You are comfortable working across Python and at least one other language, you think statistically, and you can move confidently from a research prototype to a maintainable, production-grade solution.

You collaborate well with data scientists, architects, and product teams and you do not need close supervision to get quality work across the line.

Key Responsibilities Participate in team planning sessions and contribute to effort estimation for ML and software development work Build, optimize, and maintain ML models and data pipelines from prototype through to production Apply software development best practices, including test-driven development and CI/CD, to all model and pipeline work Design and implement operational aspects of model deployment, covering automation, monitoring, and drift detection Collaborate with architects, data scientists,



and product and business teams to develop and refine ML solutions Review requirements, participate in experiments, and prototype solutions that address business needs Perform code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback to peers Test and debug application code to ensure reliability and performance Required Skills & Experience BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Statistics, or equivalent Minimum 4 years of overall work experience Minimum 3 years delivering AI/ML projects end to end Minimum 2 years as a software developer on a delivery team Proficiency in at least two languages, such as Python, Java, or C#, with solid Python data package experience Hands-on experience building solutions in AWS Good knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and query engines, including SQL Proficiency in statistical concepts and applying statistical thinking to business problems Working knowledge of Dev

Ops practices and automation Robust knowledge of ML algorithms and techniques, including agentic solutions, with the ability to build and optimize models independently Strong testing and debugging skills Valid Canadian work authorization (right to work in Canada required) Preferred Skills Experience building data pipelines Familiarity with web frontend development Working knowledge of the broader AWS ecosystem or genuine interest in going deep on AWS services Experience with platforms such as Databricks
