Horace Allen School requires a Part Time Temporary (17.5 hrs/week) Educational Assistant. This position will commence as soon as a successful candidate is found and will end June 29, 2027. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Learning Support and Administrative teams, the successful candidate will provide one-on-one, small group, and class wide student support in inclusive classroom settings.
Desired Qualifications Include The Following
- Experience working in an inclusive setting
- Demonstrates an ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility with programming
- Demonstrates an understanding of self-regulation, and has experience utilizing self-regulation tools with students
- Ability to work collaboratively with the School Support Team and outside agencies
- Ability to work independently to follow goals and implement strategies as determined by the school team and service providers,
along with data collection as required
- Certification from accredited Teaching Assistant Program or equivalent is an asset
- SIVA training/certification is an asset
