Senior Java Developer Job Type: Full Time Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Onsite / 4 Days Primary Skills: Java & Spring Boot, Microservices & REST APIs, Oracle SQL & Kafka/MQ Job Description We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.

The role involves building microservices, REST APIs, event-driven solutions, database integrations, and reliable enterprise applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot 2.x .

Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.

Implement event-driven and messaging solutions using Kafka and MQ .

Develop robust data access layers using Hibernate and SQL-based persistence.

Work with Oracle databases, including writing efficient SQL queries and optimizing database performance.

Implement data serialization and exchange using JSON.

Ensure application security, scalability, performance, reliability, and high availability.

Contribute to job orchestration and workflow processing within the platform.

Enhance application logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and overall system reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technical delivery and program objectives.

Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisions.

Support production systems and troubleshoot complex application issues.





Program & Stakeholder Management Support cross-functional teams and contribute to program governance through regular status reporting and RAID management.

Follow established PMO frameworks, processes, and governance standards.

Build strong relationships with business, technology, vendor, and leadership stakeholders.

Ensure transparent communication, expectation alignment, issue resolution, and timely decision-making.

Coordinate effectively across technical and business teams to support successful delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot .

Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

Robust knowledge of Kafka, MQ, and event-driven architecture.

Experience with Hibernate and SQL-based persistence.

Strong Oracle database and SQL query development skills.

Experience working with JSON and data serialization.

Understanding of application security, scalability, performance, and high availability.

Experience with logging, monitoring, and production support.

Robust communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise-scale Java applications.

Knowledge of job orchestration and workflow processing.

Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams.

Exposure to PMO governance, RAID management, and stakeholder reporting.

Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments is an advantage.
