About the Company Our client is a leading Canadian law firm with a strong national presence, and we are assisting with their search for an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Legal Assistant to join their Toronto team.
About the Role Preparing intellectual property and litigation documents based on lawyer instructions, precedents and established procedures.
Drafting, proofreading and editing legal correspondence and documentation on behalf of lawyers.
Preparing affidavits and other litigation materials, as well as coordinating and scheduling court attendances.
Managing lawyer practices, including file openings, meetings, hearings, travel arrangements and other scheduling requirements.
Communicating with clients to obtain information and instructions and ensuring lawyers receive the necessary follow-up.
Managing bring-forward systems, monitoring deadlines and keeping lawyers informed of ongoing and outstanding matters.
Assisting with docketing, account preparation and other administrative functions, while providing additional support to lawyers and the broader team as required.
The Offer The firm offers a competitive compensation package ranging between $70,000 - $80,000, a generous vacation allotment,
extended health and dental advantages, RRSP matching, education tuition allowance, a fitness reimbursement program and more! What You Bring 5+ years of legal assistant experience, with a strong background in Intellectual Property, Trademarks and Litigation. A College Diploma in Legal Administration or a related qualification.
Solid knowledge of Federal Court procedures and litigation processes.
Experience with legal technology and document management systems, including Patsy, Kofax/Adobe, ACL, iPro/Eclipse, Titan
File and Case Center.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel and Power
Point.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
