Sr Java Developer Job Type: Full Time Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Onsite / 4 Days Primary Skills: Java & Spring Boot, Microservices & Solace, Hibernate & SQL Job Description We are seeking a Sr Java Developer to architect and develop high-performance backend services for a capital markets environment.

The role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven architecture, database performance, and automation.

Key Responsibilities Architect and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

Design and maintain microservices across enterprise infrastructure.

Implement event-driven workflows using Solace messaging .

Ensure data consistency and effective persistence using Hibernate ORM and SQL databases.

Design APIs and service contracts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Participate in code reviews and promote coding standards and knowledge sharing.

Optimize database queries and application performance for low-latency trading systems.

Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for deployment, testing, and operational workflows.

Troubleshoot complex backend issues and contribute to production support activities.





Document technical solutions and participate in architecture and design discussions.

Required Skills & Experience Robust proficiency in Java for backend development and production-grade application design.

Solid experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem , including dependency injection and configuration management.

Hands-on experience with Solace messaging and event-driven architectures.

Strong knowledge of microservices design patterns and inter-service communication.

Hands-on experience with Hibernate ORM .

Strong SQL skills covering database design, optimization, and query performance tuning.

Experience writing Python scripts for automation, testing, and operational tasks.

Familiarity with Claude/AI integration for backend automation and optimization is preferred.

Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.

Ability to understand and communicate complex technical solutions clearly.

Experience in Capital Markets or financial services environments is an advantage.
