Draftsperson/Technologist – Heavy Civil Construction

Nhwelmen Construction is seeking a Draftsperson / Technologist to join our growing team. This position supports the Project Manager in the successful delivery of civil construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy civil construction drawings and survey data. They should be self-motivated, organized, reliable and able to work independently in a fast-paced construction setting.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings for heavy civil infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities, and structures.
- Produce plans, profiles, cross-sections, details, and construction drawings in accordance with project specifications and drafting standards.
- Interpret survey data and incorporate design information into CAD models and drawings.
- Ability to process drone survey data.
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, operations team,



and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and constructability.
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and document control in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare as-built drawings for record keeping and QA/QC.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and compliant with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Assist with identifying and resolving design and drafting issues during project delivery.
- Promote safe work practices and comply with company health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, Pix4D or equivalent drone mapping software.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction drawings and survey data.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.

Location: This position is based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia. This is not a camp position.
