About the Role Our client is seeking an Insurance Litigation Associate with 2+ years of post call experience to join its litigation group in Toronto.

This is an opportunity to work on a broad range of insurance and civil litigation matters, with exposure to specialty lines of insurance, professional negligence, construction professional litigation, coverage, municipal liability, police liability, occupiers'' liability, property insurance, product liability, cyber, and other commercial litigation matters.

Working alongside partners and other members of the team, you will have meaningful involvement throughout the litigation process, from initial file assessment through discovery, mediation, pre trial, and trial.

Key responsibilities will include: Providing legal analysis and advice on insurance and civil litigation matters.

Managing litigation and coverage files in conjunction with partners.

Assessing legal and factual issues and developing strategies for clients.

Preparing pleadings, motions, correspondence, court filings, and other legal documents.

Attending examinations for discovery, mediations, pre trials, and hearings.

Appearing in court to argue motions and attend other proceedings,



independently or alongside partners.

Assisting with trial preparation and attending trials or other adjudicative hearings.

Reviewing and analyzing documents in preparation for litigation.

Maintaining strong relationships with insurers, insureds, clients, and opposing counsel.

Contributing to business development and professional networking opportunities.

Supporting practice management initiatives and other business priorities as required.

What You Bring Called to the Ontario Bar and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. 2+ years of post qualification experience in civil litigation and insurance or coverage matters.

Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.

Excellent analytical skills, sound judgment, and strong legal reasoning.

Ability to develop practical litigation strategies and communicate recommendations clearly to clients.

Strong advocacy and oral communication skills.

Ability to manage files independently while working effectively within a team.

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

High level of integrity and professional judgment.
