Role Description The Prepress Specialist is a full time, in office role based in Richmond Hill, ON. This role is responsible for preparing customer artwork and production files for flexographic printing, including file review, preflight, and print-ready layout creation. Day-to-day tasks include adjusting and optimizing files for print, collaborating with production and press operators to ensure technical accuracy, and managing plate layout and output.

The Prepress

Specialist will troubleshoot file and production issues, maintain quality standards,



and help meet tight customer deadlines. The role also involves communicating with internal teams and, when needed, customers to clarify specifications and ensure repeatable, consistent results.

Qualifications

- Strong pre-press skills, including file preparation, color separation, and knowledge of flexographic workflows
- Experience with printing processes and print design, with an understanding of press capabilities and limitations
- Proficiency in preflight and quality control of digital files to identify and resolve technical issues before production
- Background in packaging design or label/packaging artwork, with the ability to adapt designs for production efficiency
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard design and prepress software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Esko or similar tools)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple jobs under tight deadlines
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with production, sales, and customer service teams
- Previous experience in flexographic or packaging print environments is an asset; relevant technical diploma or equivalent experience preferred
