Role Description The Quality, Health, Safety & Workplace (QHSE) Specialist is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Windsor Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for implementing and continuously improving the company's quality, health & safety, and environmental management programs across Sterling Fuels’ operations, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include conducting and coordinating workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations; developing and updating safety procedures; and monitoring compliance with occupational health and environmental standards.

The specialist will deliver safety training, coordinate emergency response planning, and support risk assessments for fuel handling, storage, and transportation activities. This role works closely with operations, maintenance,



and management teams to promote a solid safety culture, track key QHSE metrics, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Workplace Safety principles, with the ability to apply them in an industrial or fuel-handling environment.
- Experience in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Proficiency in Safety Training design and delivery, including toolbox talks, onboarding sessions, and ongoing employee education.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to fuel storage, handling, and emissions, and experience implementing environmental controls or monitoring programs.
- Ability to conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning, using structured methodologies and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence safety behaviors.
- Attention to detail, robust organizational skills, and capability to manage multiple EHS initiatives simultaneously.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CRSP, CSP, or equivalent) are an asset.
- Experience in industrial, energy, or fuel-related operations is preferred, along with familiarity with Canadian and Ontario EHS legislation.
