The Food Production Worker supports daily manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently producing high-quality food products in alignment with company standards, food safety regulations, and Work

You will operate production equipment, handle food products, maintain strict sanitation standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across various production areas.
**Responsibilities**
Perform a variety of production tasks such as mixing, assembling, cooking, forming, packaging, labeling, and palletizing food products.

Work primarily in forming and packaging/boxing areas, while supporting prep and cooking as needed.

Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, following all standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Follow production schedules and recipes to ensure consistent product quality and output.

Meet established productivity, quality, and yield targets while minimizing waste.

Comply with all food safety programs, including HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation procedures.

Perform regular quality checks and promptly report any deviations, non-conformances, or product defects.

Maintain accurate production, quality, and traceability records for ingredients and finished products.

Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of ingredients and finished goods to support traceability and allergen control.

Follow all Work

SafeBC requirements and internal health and safety policies at all times.

Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and correctly throughout the shift.

Immediately report safety hazards, near misses, or incidents to the appropriate personnel.

Participate in safety training, toolbox meetings, and ongoing safety initiatives.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, and tools throughout the shift.

Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned, including equipment and production areas.

Support allergen control measures and help prevent cross-contamination between products.

Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.

Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency initiatives within the production environment.

Assist with training and onboarding of new employees as required.
**Essential Skills**
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in food manufacturing, food production, or warehouse environments is an asset.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to product quality and food safety.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.

Basic math and record-keeping skills for tracking production and quality data.

Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

Ability to lift approximately 25–50 pounds (up to 30 pounds repeatedly) with or without accommodation.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.

Comfort working with chicken, beef, and pork products.

Ability to work in a cooled environment at approximately 4 degrees Celsius.

Ability to wear required PPE for the entire shift, including steel-toe footwear.

Flexibility with working times, including potential shift changes,



overtime, and weekend work.

Familiarity with food manufacturing, food preparation, or kitchen preparation environments.

Understanding of HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) or willingness to learn.

Experience in production, packaging, or food production roles.

Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.

Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in a shift-based role.

Willingness to support multiple areas of the production process as business needs evolve.

Openness to learning new equipment, processes, and continuous improvement methods.

**Work Environment**
This is a shift-based role in a food manufacturing facility with approximately 38 employees.

Work schedules may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays, with overtime required based on operational needs.

The first shift typically starts between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and runs for about eight hours, with the expectation of transitioning to a second shift and weekend availability as additional shifts are introduced.

The environment includes exposure to food ingredients, temperature-controlled areas (around 4°C), and production equipment.

You will stand for most of the shift, perform repetitive tasks, and regularly lift moderate weights.

Required PPE includes steel-toe footwear (provided by you) while other protective equipment is supplied by the employer.

Lockers are available, and you are encouraged to bring a lock suitable for day use.

The facility follows strict food safety, HACCP, and GMP standards, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and safe work practices throughout all production areas.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Richmond,BC.
