Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a leading organization operating in a highly regulated environment.

This individual will serve as a strategic legal advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on complex commercial, privacy, regulatory, and contractual matters while helping the organization manage risk and support business growth.

Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and support to business units on a variety of complex commercial and operational matters.

Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements.

Partner closely with sales, operations, product, and leadership teams to support business initiatives and contract negotiations.

Advise on privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance matters, including issues involving the collection, use, and transfer of personal information.

Conduct legal and business risk assessments related to contracts, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide guidance on potential business impacts.

Support corporate governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives.

Develop and deliver legal training and education programs for internal stakeholders.

Collaborate with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and organizational objectives.

Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted advisor to key business partners.

Skills and Requirements
J.D. or LL.B. from an accredited law school.

Member in good standing with a Canadian provincial law society.
10+ years of experience practicing law.

Robust experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

Demonstrated experience providing practical legal advice to business stakeholders.

Solid understanding of corporate and commercial law principles.

Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Technologically proficient and comfortable using modern legal and business tools.

Experience in a regulated industry such as financial services, fintech, healthcare, telecommunications, insurance, or similar sectors.

Knowledge of privacy legislation, consumer reporting legislation, administrative law, and related regulatory frameworks.

Experience supporting commercial or sales-focused business teams.

Previous in-house legal experience.

Bilingualism in English and French.
