**Position Overview**
Kiewit's Project Procurement Leads ensure the timely, cost‑effective, and compliant acquisition of materials, products, subcontractors, professional services, commodities, and small tools and supplies for our projects under construction.

Our Procurement team interfaces with engineering, estimating, design, and the site to create project-specific contract templates, negotiating with equipment vendors, material vendors, subcontractors and service providers.

This role leads vendor performance management and contract administration to support project schedules, budgets, quality, and risk objectives.

**Location**
This position is based full-time in our Calgary, AB office.

**Responsibilities**
Procurement, Sourcing & Category Management
Develop and execute comprehensive project procurement plans aligned with project schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.

Lead category management strategies for major spend categories (e.g., concrete, structural steel, equipment, electrical, mechanical, and professional services), including market analysis, sourcing approaches, and cost strategies.

Leverage category insights to drive standardization, strategic supplier selection, and total cost of ownership optimization.

Source, negotiate,



and purchase all materials, equipment, services, and subcontracted work required for the project.

Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to forecast demand, align on specifications, and mitigate supply‑chain risks.

Subcontractor & Vendor Performance Management
Lead subcontractor and supplier prequalification, bidding, evaluation, and award processes.

Establish performance expectations and manage ongoing vendor and subcontractor performance related to cost, quality, schedule, safety, and contractual compliance.

Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions or improvement plans as required.

Maintain strong supplier relationships to support project execution and future work.

Contract Management
Draft, review, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements in coordination with legal, risk, and project leadership.

Ensure commercial terms and conditions align with category strategies, project risk profiles, and contract requirements.

Manage contract changes, claims, and dispute resolution related to procurement and subcontracted scopes.

Maintain complete, accurate procurement and contract documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Cost, Schedule & Risk Control
Track procurement commitments, expenditures, and cash flow to support accurate project cost forecasting and reporting.

Identify procurement and category‑specific risks, including market volatility and supply constraints, and implement mitigation strategies.

Support project closeout activities, including final payments, contract reconciliation, and post‑project vendor and category performance evaluations.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management,



Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
8+ years of procurement, supply chain, or subcontract management experience on large‑scale construction projects, preferably in industrial, oil & gas, heavy civil, infrastructure, or EPC projects.

Demonstrated experience applying category management principles within a project or construction‑focused environment.

Strong knowledge of construction procurement, subcontracting practices, and contract administration.

Proven ability to lead complex negotiations across multiple categories and stakeholders.

Experience working with enterprise procurement, ERP, and cost control systems.

Robust negotiation, commercial, and analytical skills
