**Job Description**
The Lead Assembler independently completes full product builds from start to finish while leading a small team of 2–3 assemblers in a designated work area.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret and apply shop and technical drawings, and hands-on experience assembling complete products rather than working on a production line.

The Lead Assembler ensures quality, safety, and efficiency while guiding others through complex assembly tasks.
**Responsibilities**
Perform full product builds from start to finish, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.

Lead and oversee 2–3 assemblers in a work area, providing direction, guidance, and support throughout the build process.

Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately, and communicate requirements clearly to team members.

Review and verify technical drawings to ensure all components and assembly steps are correctly understood before work begins.

Use a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical and carpentry-related assembly tasks.

Oversee the work of others to ensure builds are completed correctly, on time, and in line with quality standards.

Provide on-the-job coaching and instruction to team members to improve their technical skills and understanding of drawings.

Handle and move materials and components, including lifting items up to 50 lbs as needed during the assembly process.

Collaborate with engineering and other internal teams when required to clarify drawings, resolve issues, and improve build processes.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a bright manufacturing shop setting.

Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies while encouraging safe practices among team members.

Support a positive, team-oriented culture by working collaboratively and contributing to a respectful, cooperative environment.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 3+ years of experience performing full product builds (not production line or single-part assembly).

Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying shop drawings, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Demonstrated experience managing or leading others in an assembly or mechanical environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude supported by formal training such as an engineering, technician diploma, carpentry, or cabinet making program.

Hands-on experience using a variety of hand and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily work.

Experience working with wood, including basic carpentry, construction, or crating tasks.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to team members.

Capability to work independently on complex builds while coordinating tasks for a small team.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Formal training in a mechanically oriented discipline such as engineering, mechanical technician, carpentry, or cabinet making.

Experience working from blueprints and technical drawings in a manufacturing or construction environment.

Experience in basic carpentry or wood construction,



including measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden components.

Comfort working in a large manufacturing facility with cross-functional teams such as engineering and sales.

Strong teamwork mindset and willingness to contribute to a positive, collaborative shop culture.

Reliability and consistency in attendance, with the ability to support overtime needs when required.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a bright, clean, and growing manufacturing shop within a large facility.

The environment is non-unionized and includes approximately 18 assemblers on-site, with engineering and sales teams also working out of the location.

The culture emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and being supportive colleagues, with frequent BBQs and company events that foster a friendly, team-oriented atmosphere.

Work is hands-on and mechanically focused, using a variety of hand and power tools in a full-build assembly setting.

Day shift hours run from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime as needed.

Afternoon shift hours run from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday to Thursday. A bi-weekly attendance bonus is available, and overtime is often offered for those who wish to increase their earnings.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Mississauga,ON.
