Brief On The Organization The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in Recent Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes.

Project Brief

Women and girls in India face a disproportionate burden of depression, anxiety, self-harm risk, and exposure to gender-based violence (GBV). There is a critical need for safe, culturally adapted, and gender-responsive psychosocial interventions to be delivered to women and girls within accessible community platforms. This project aims to develop such an intervention to address these health issues with field studies in Bihar and Karnataka.

Job Summary The selected candidate will work under the supervision of senior investigators on various aspects of the project which includes development of intervention and relevant tools, training of teams,



and management of intervention data and statistical analysis using advanced methods and data analytics. The candidate will contribute to high-quality scientific publications and policy reports and stakeholder engagement. The candidate may also undertake other project-related tasks as needed.

The candidate will receive mentorship from leading researchers and get exposure to high-impact global health work to enhance career prospects.

Deliverables The position will perform the following tasks:

- Work with senior investigators on various aspects of the project.
- Contribute to development of intervention and relevant protocols.
- Develop and manage data in suitable format for statistical analyses.
- Apply advanced statistical methods and data analytics to analyse data.
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to high-quality scientific publications, policy reports, and dissemination activities.
- Undertake additional project-related tasks as needed.
- Perform any other task as assigned by the project team and PI.

Education

Essential

- PhD or Masters in biostatistics public health or related fields.

Desirable

- Stakeholder engagement specific to GBV and knowledge of current GBV scenario in India

Experience

Essential

- 10 years of relevant health research experience.
- Good knowledge of epidemiology study designs, common analysis methods, descriptive and inferential statistics, summarization of data and presentation.
- Experience in managing large datasets.

Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in statistical software such as STATA and SPSS.
- Knowledge of R programming language desirable.




- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Strong attention to detail and rigorous methodological approach.
- Stakeholder engagement.
