Our family loves spending time together. We love downtime that is slow, unscheduled and spontaneous. Recently, our 3 kids love to draw, colour, play soccer, build with lego & magna-tiles. They frequently ask how they can help when we are making dinner or snacks and we encourage them to help by giving them real tasks such as cracking and whisking eggs, pouring milk, stirring ingredients together.
Sometimes they make a mess, but thats part of the learning process. They also love TV shows. We strive to be a low tech household, but we do watch shows and movies for limited lengths of time.
