Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6 month contract role to join a fast-paced finance team. Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, this role will support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives while partnering with operational leaders to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and analyze financial statements
- Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Prepare audit working papers and support external audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc analysis

Qualifications

- CPA designation or nearing completion of the CPA program
- 4+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience




- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Knowledge of BI and reporting tools is an asset
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Cooperative team player with a continuous improvement mindset

Pay Rate

$45.00 / Hour

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
