What you’ll do -

The Senior Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with BC Hydro's largest and most complex Oil, Gas and LNG customers. This role serves as the primary customer interface for major industrial projects and accounts and is accountable for identifying customer needs, advancing electrification opportunities, supporting large-load connections, and coordinating internal resources to deliver customer solutions. The Senior KAM is recognized as a trusted advisor to customers and industry stakeholders and as a subject matter expert within BC Hydro.

The role requires a deep understanding of industrial operations, energy markets, energy efficiency and decarbonization opportunities, regulatory environments, and major capital project development. Success in this role depends on the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across BC Hydro, coordinating diverse internal teams to deliver customer solutions and advance strategic customer objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

- Provide excellent customer service, address customers issues, and deliver on strategic customer opportunities within a portfolio of our largest and most complex key account customers.
- Develop and execute key account plans and sector strategies for major Oil, Gas and LNG customers.
- Build executive-level relationships with customer decision makers and industry stakeholders.

Major Project Leadership

- Lead customer engagement and support through load interconnection processes for major industrial, oil and gas, and LNG projects.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including planning, engineering, interconnections, project delivery, product management, regulatory, Indigenous relations,



government relations, legal, and executive leadership, to advance complex customer projects.
- Strong project management skills with experience developing integrated project schedules, aligning customer and BC Hydro project timelines, and providing clear and transparent communication on costs, schedules, risks, and project status to customers, executives, and diverse stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver executive briefings, recommendations, and regular updates to BC Hydro senior leadership on key customer initiatives, project milestones, risks, and emerging opportunities.

Energy Efficiency & Electrification
- Identify and advance energy efficiency and electrification opportunities within existing operations and new oil, gas, and LNG projects.
- Promote BC Hydro programs, incentives, and technical solutions that improve energy performance, reduce emissions, and support customer business objectives.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to integrate energy efficiency opportunities into project planning, design, and operations.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of energy efficiency and load growth opportunities aligned with BC Hydro's strategic and customer objectives.
- Partner with customers to identify and leverage emerging technologies that improve energy efficiency and support electrification objectives.

Industry Leadership

- Maintain a deep understanding of Oil, Gas and LNG industry trends, market dynamics, policy developments, and emerging technologies.
- Represent BC Hydro at industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.




- Provide market intelligence and sector insights to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

What you bring –

Education

- University degree in business, engineering, economics, commerce, or a related discipline.
- A combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.

Experience

- 8+ years of progressive experience in account management, business development, project management, commercial management, engineering, energy, or industrial operations.
- Experience managing complex industrial projects
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining robust customer relationships across the energy sector, serving as a trusted advisor by providing strategic guidance and energy management solutions that support customer goals.
