The rapidly growing team at Moodys Private Client LLP seek to add a Part Time, Senior Manager, US Tax to its accounting team in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The candidate will work with a team of accountants, lawyers and tax professionals. A confident individual who demonstrates initiative and motivation toward continuous improvement of self and firm processes, and who operates with a sense of urgency, and is looking to add value to their clients in a meaningful way is recommended for this position.Primary Responsibilities
Demonstrating an understanding of US tax concepts as they relate to Corporate and Partnership federal and state income tax compliance, including US income tax return review and preparationPreparation and review of US corporate tax returns for clients, including Forms 1120, 1120F, 1120-S, 1065, 5471, 5472, FBAR FinCen 114, and related schedulesConducting federal and state tax research, thoroughly analyzing US cross-border tax issues and drafting technical memos related to specific client mattersUtilizing the Canada US Tax Treaty to determine filing positions for cross border clientsInteracting with the federal and state tax authorities to assist clients in resolving tax audits, notices and issuesAccountable for engagement planning with junior and senior staff members and scheduling as well as project profitability reports (i.E., budgets, WIP,
timely billing)Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reportsMentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing 360 feedback and conducting performance reviewsSkills And Experience
US CPA designationMinimum 7 years of relevant US tax experience and robust technical knowledge of U.S. federal corporate income tax lawExperience with US personal tax is considered an assetProven people management, relationship building and leadership skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailResults-oriented with a sense of urgency.
