Our SE client is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic / Licensed Automotive Technician to join their busy automotive service team.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and providing customers with a positive service experience. You'll work alongside a collaborative automotive team, handling a variety of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be approachable, solutions-focused, and comfortable communicating with both customers and internal team members. Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

- Complete thorough vehicle inspections, diagnostics, estimates, maintenance, and repairs with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance requirements to service advisors and/or customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Prepare and review repair orders and vehicle inspection reports in collaboration with the service team.
- Communicate clearly with Service Advisors, management, parts team members, and other automotive staff to keep repairs moving efficiently.
- Provide accurate estimates and clear written documentation regarding vehicle condition and recommended work.
- Identify and report safety concerns or vehicles considered unsafe for operation to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain current knowledge of automotive systems, technology, maintenance requirements, and repair procedures across a range of vehicle makes and models.
- Follow established health and safety practices and maintain a clean, organized,



and safe work environment.
- Operate customer and company vehicles responsibly and in accordance with safety expectations.

Education:

- Journeyman Mechanic
- Red Seal certification is preferred. Candidates without a current Red Seal must be willing and able to obtain their Red Seal certification.

Qualifications:

- Valid Alberta Journeyman certification is required.
- Valid Alberta driver's licence is required.
- Red Seal certification is considered an asset, with the willingness and ability to obtain certification required if not currently held.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a physically demanding automotive environment.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and regularly lifting, carrying, reaching, twisting, and turning.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes every other weekend, and occasional evenings and holidays.

Experience:

- Previous experience working as a Journeyman Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician in a busy service environment is required.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of automotive systems and vehicle makes and models is preferred.
- Familiarity with computerized automotive diagnostic and service systems is considered an asset.

- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of modern automotive systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Able to assess mechanical concerns, identify appropriate solutions, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Comfortable explaining technical information and repair recommendations clearly to customers and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Thorough and accurate when completing inspections, repairs, estimates, and documentation.
- Adaptability:



Able to manage changing priorities and respond effectively to challenging or unexpected situations.
- Teamwork: Approachable and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively with service, parts, and management teams.
- Technology: Comfortable working with computerized systems and adapting to evolving automotive technology.

Base Salary: Competitive flat-rate compensation based on bi-weekly productivity. On target earnings (OTE) $80,000-100,000+ per year.
