Overview
We are hiring a Recycling Support Worker to assist adults with intellectual disabilities within their place of employment.

Duties

- Monitor safety issues regarding equipment, work areas, production, traffic flow, all as they relate to the clients.
- Assist in IESP goal setting, planning, and review.
- Educate customers and the public when applicable.
- Organize work sites to allow clients maximum participation in job duties with specific attention to work place efficiency and safety.
- Maintain quality control.
- Maintain work flow in an productive manner to expedite production.
- Maintain equipment (when appropriate).
- Maintain records as required.
- Maintain production and operations in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Provide transportation for clients as needed.
- Train, monitor, supervise, counsel clients regarding hygiene, counselling, behaviour management as required, giving the client respect and patience.
- Adhere to the dress code of not wearing baggy clothing that could get caught in the machines, and ensuring safety boots are worn at all times.




- Role modelling to clients at all times through staff actions including appearance and words.
- Other applicable duties as assigned by the Recycling Supervisor.
- Assist in other departments as required.

Job requirements / Essential Duties

· 1-3 years experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities

· Preference will be given to those with a college diploma in the Social Services or Human Services field of study.

· Ability to use Microsoft Office Programs.

· Strong math skills, communication skills.

· Ability to drive SS Loader/forklift.

· Write regular reports under direction of the Supervisor.

· Ability to work independently.

· Ability to work with intellectually disabled adults using respect, compassion and patience.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Drivers licence with own vehicle, insurable to transport clients.

Ability to work (stand, walk) on cement and/or pavement for prolonged periods of up to 3-4 hours at a time

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $18.80-$20.05 per hour
