About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support accurate and timely full-cycle payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees across multiple Canadian jurisdictions. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in payroll processing, sound knowledge of applicable payroll legislation, and the ability to manage confidential information professionally. This role also supports payroll accounting, reconciliations, variance analysis of payroll costs and hours, reporting, benefits administration, and year-end activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle biweekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.
- Set up and maintain employee payroll records, including current hires, terminations, banking information, compensation changes, deductions, vacation, floater days, overtime, and other payroll-related data.
- Validate timesheets and payroll inputs, transfer data to the ADP payroll system, and verify system-generated pay, deductions, and reports.
- Calculate and process regular and special payments, including overtime, vacation pay, bonuses, termination pay, manual adjustments, garnishments, and other statutory or non-statutory deductions.
- Prepare and issue Records of Employment and other required payroll documentation.
- Calculate, reconcile, and remit source deductions and employer obligations, including applicable workers’ compensation and employer health taxes.
- Prepare, balance, and distribute year-end tax slips and support the reconciliation and submission of statutory remittances.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly, accurately, and confidentially.
- Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, managers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare payroll allocations, financial reports,
General Ledger entries, monthly accruals, and account or bank reconciliations related to payroll.
- Extract and analyze payroll data, identify trends or exceptions, and prepare recurring and ad hoc reports.
- Maintain group insurance records and post monthly benefit costs.
- Support period-end and year-end accounting requirements and assist the accounting team with related activities.
- Maintain organized payroll files, records, and supporting documentation in accordance with company and legal requirements.
- Recommend improvements to payroll procedures, controls, and processes.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience processing full-cycle payroll across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.
- Three (3) or more years of progressive payroll experience supporting salaried and hourly employees.
- Post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is required or must be actively in progress.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, employment standards, statutory deductions, year-end reporting, and payroll accounting.
- Experience with ADP or another major payroll platform; strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Bilingual English/French communication skills are a strong asset.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet firm payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a service-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential and sensitive employee information.
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
