General Accountant – Manufacturing

Guelph, Ontario | $75,000 to $80,000 | Full-Time, Permanent

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting for an experienced General Accountant on behalf of an established and growing manufacturing organization in Guelph.

This is an excellent prospect for an accounting professional who understands the pace, processes and financial requirements of a manufacturing environment and is ready to contribute as a hands-on member of the finance team.

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

Applicants MUST have 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting and financial activities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts
- Perform monthly credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare monthly financial schedules and supporting documentation
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and assist with collections
- Review transactions for accuracy, completeness and appropriate coding
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Provide documentation and information for external audits and government filings
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Assist with payroll schedules
- Process and distribute customer invoices and ensure billing information is accurate
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Controller and finance team

Qualifications





- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end close
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative finance team
