Class C Elevating Devices Mechanic – Man Hoist Division

Two permanent positions available | Richmond, BC

REM is looking for two experienced Class C Elevating Devices Mechanics who want more than another job.

We need hands-on leaders—people who take ownership of their work, solve problems and are willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. These are opportunities for mechanics who want to help strengthen and grow an important new division of our company.

You will work directly in the field installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing personnel hoists, while also helping us improve how the division operates. We want people who recognize what needs to be done, take responsibility for the outcome and bring others along with them.

This is not a desk-based leadership position. Leadership at REM means setting the standard through your work, supporting the people around you and taking pride in every job from start to finish.

What You Will Do

- Install, alter, maintain, troubleshoot and repair personnel hoists within the scope of your certification and Skills Passport
- Take ownership of assigned projects, equipment and service requirements
- Provide practical leadership and direction on active job sites
- Work alongside the crew and step in wherever your knowledge and effort are needed
- Help train, mentor and develop Mechanics-in-Training and other team members
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency and customer service
- Build strong working relationships with contractors, site supervisors and customers
- Help REM expand and strengthen its Man Hoist Division
- Ensure all work meets Technical Safety BC requirements, applicable codes and REM safety standards
- Complete required inspections, service records and job documentation accurately and on time

Who We Are Looking For

You may be the right person if you:

- Hold a current Technical Safety BC Class C Elevating Devices Mechanic certificate




- Have hands-on experience with personnel and construction hoists
- Take responsibility for your work and follow problems through to resolution
- Lead through your actions and are respected by the people working beside you
- Are comfortable making sound decisions in a fast-moving construction environment
- Take pride in doing secure, dependable and professional work
- Can organize work, communicate clearly and keep projects moving
- Want to help build a division rather than simply fill a position
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and have an acceptable driving record

Experienced Class C Mechanics-in-Training may also be considered where their training, accumulated hours and practical experience demonstrate that they are progressing toward certification.
