Contract Grain Buyer

Pay Rate: $37.19/hour, depending on experience

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Location: Lloydminster, SK

Raise is currently hiring a Contract Grain Buyer on behalf of our client. This role supports grain procurement and coordination activities for ethanol production, helping ensure a consistent and cost-effective feedstock supply while working closely with vendors, operations, marketing, and finance teams. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Contract Grain Buyer will support grain purchasing, pricing, contracting, supply coordination, and regulatory reporting activities. The successful candidate will help align feedstock availability with production requirements while maintaining accurate pricing information and supporting procurement strategies.

Responsibilities

Grain Procurement & Coordination

- Execute grain purchasing, pricing, contracting, and supply coordination activities.
- Maintain grain and DDGS pricing data in coordination with marketing and finance.
- Coordinate feedstock supply with production planning and operations teams.
- Support procurement strategy and long-range planning initiatives.
- Serve as a key contact for grain vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Support daily grain marketing and procurement activities.

Reporting & Compliance

- Complete required regulatory reporting and renewals, including applicable Clean Fuel Regulations and Canadian Grains Commission requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely pricing calculations and reporting.
- Ensure procurement activities align with operational and financial objectives.




- Follow company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Degree or diploma in business, economics, agriculture, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in scheduling, logistics, procurement, or supply coordination.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a time-sensitive operational setting.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of grain marketing, commodity markets, or agricultural operations.
- Experience with pricing analysis and market-based purchasing.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting in agriculture or energy.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and relationship management skills.
- High attention to detail and adaptability to changing operational requirements.
