Maintenance Associate — Custodian

Job DescriptionWe are looking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Maintenance Associate – Custodian to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for customers and associates in Walmart stores. This associate is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance tasks, and general cleaning to support the store’s operational efficiency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and inspections daily
- Follow WHMIS and safety policies when handling chemicals
- Report custodial, maintenance, or safety issues promptly




- Maintain facility areas including restrooms, cafeteria, and offices
- Ensure equipment is functional and supplies are stocked
- Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely and according to standards
- Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure quality work
- Engage appropriate resources to resolve issues
- Monitor and report maintenance concerns like lighting or plumbing

Qualifications

- Custodial/janitorial experience is an asset
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Strong attention to detail and safety commitment
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and prolonged standing/bending
- Versatile availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must follow health and safety regulations at all times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.05 per hour
