We are looking for an Accountant to join a detail-focused services firm in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis. In this role, you will support core accounting operations, contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting, and work closely with finance leadership on month-end, audit, and budgeting activities. This opportunity is well suited to someone who brings strong analytical skills, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee routine bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate cash records.
- Participate in monthly close activities by preparing entries, reconciling balances, and helping ensure reporting timelines are met.
- Compile financial reporting packages at month-end and verify supporting information for completeness and accuracy.
- Analyze account fluctuations and financial results to identify variances and provide meaningful explanations.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and adjusting transactions in line with accounting standards and internal practices.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for trust audits, year-end files, and external audit requests.
- Assist with budget preparation, account analysis, and other financial planning support as required.
- Collaborate with managers, directors, and team members on process enhancements, data requests, and special finance initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in a similar position.




- Experience in a services environment that values attention to detail is considered an asset.
- CPA designation completed or in progress is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and solid experience with accounting systems such as Aderant.
- Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, variance review, and month-end procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple deadlines independently.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a quick-paced setting.
