Our client is an established Windsor manufacturing company specializing in machining and fabrication. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Welder/Fitter who is comfortable working from fabrication drawings, laying out and fitting components, and completing welded assemblies to specification.
The role works directly within the manufacturing environment and reports to the Production Supervisor.
Who This Role Is For
This opportunity is well suited to someone who:
- Has at least 2 years of welding and fabrication experience
- Has hands-on experience with MIG and/or TIG welding
- Can confidently read and work from fabrication drawings
- Is comfortable with layout, fit-up, measuring, cutting and assembly
- Can accurately use a variety of measuring devices
- Takes pride in quality work, reliability and consistent attendance
What You'll Be Doing
- Lay out, position and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications
- Tack weld and weld components and assemblies using MIG and/or TIG equipment
- Read and work from fabrication drawings
- Measure, cut and kit components required for fabrication
- Determine appropriate equipment and welding methods for the work being completed
- Fit and assemble metal components to specification
- Work with manufacturing machinery to support production requirements
- Follow established safe operating procedures, quality procedures and work instructions
- Apply practical knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques to the work
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Practical MIG and/or TIG welding experience
- Ability to read fabrication drawings
- Ability to effectively read and use measuring devices
- Hands-on fabrication and fit-up capability
- Strong attention to quality and accuracy
- Organized and proactive approach to work
- Positive attitude and dependable attendance
