Job Summary

Dorset Realty Group is a full-service brokerage that has been providing Real Estate and Property Management services throughout the Lower Mainland since 1975. As part of our growing marina operations division, we are seeking a full-time Marina Operator to oversee the day-to-day operations of a marina located in Richmond, BC. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining marina facilities, providing exceptional customer service, coordinating moorage activities, and ensuring safe and efficient waterfront operations.

Our ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, customer-focused, and comfortable working in both an office and outdoor marine environment. This position requires a hands on individual who can effectively manage marina operations while maintaining strong relationships with moorage customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the marina and waterfront facilities.
- Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, berth assignments, and relocations.
- Monitor marina occupancy and assist with filling vacant moorage spaces.
- Review moorage applications and assist in preparing and administering moorage agreements.
- Facilitate moorage renewals, transfers, and customer relocations within the marina.
- Invoice and collect moorage fees, service charges, and other marina revenues.
- Maintain accurate records, customer files, agreements, correspondence, and operational documentation.
- Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of docks, floats, facilities, and marina infrastructure.
- Coordinate and perform routine cleaning, debris removal, and general marina maintenance.
- Monitor the condition of marina assets and report maintenance or repair requirements.




- Ensure vessels are moored safely and in compliance with marina rules and regulations.
- Maintain marina service vessels and equipment in good working condition.
- Promote marina services and assist with marketing efforts to maximize occupancy.
- Enforce marina policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Monitor marina activities and promptly report incidents, accidents, safety concerns, or operational issues.
- Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and operational reports.
- Work collaboratively with management, contractors, vendors, and marina customers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

- Previous experience in marina operations, marine services, property management, facilities management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of boating, vessel operations, and marina environments is considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and marina users.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Robust organizational, administrative, and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office software applications.
- Valid BC Driver's License required.
- Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform light physical duties associated with marina operations.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt to change, and take initiative to improve operations and customer service.

Pay: $70,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
