We are looking for an experienced Design Drafter to join our team!

As a Design Drafter, you will support the delivery of multidisciplinary industrial projects through the development, maintenance, and coordination of engineering drawings and design deliverables. Working alongside engineers, technologists, and project teams, you will contribute to the design and layout of facilities, piping systems, and related infrastructure for both new facilities and brownfield upgrades. This position may be based in any of the Wave offices, but preference will be given to candidates based in Calgary or Grande Prairie.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on experience and career aspirations, responsibilities may include the following within industrial and energy sector projects:

- Prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings and design packages for industrial facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Develop and update 3D models, facility layouts, plot plans, and piping arrangements.
- Create and update P&IDs;, PFDs, isometric drawings, plot plans, and related engineering documentation.
- Support piping design activities, including the application of piping specifications, routing, and equipment integration.
- Collaborate with engineers, technologists, clients, and field personnel to develop accurate design deliverables.
- Participate in field assessments, site visits, and redline/as-built verification activities.
- Assist with the layout and integration of mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, tanks, and associated piping systems.
- Support structural steel layout and design activities for industrial facilities.




- Coordinate drawing revisions and document control activities.
- Participate in quality reviews to ensure deliverables are accurate and complete.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

- Engineering Design and Drafting Technology Diploma, Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent technical education.
- 5+ years of drafting and design experience within the industrial sector, preferably oil and gas.
- Experience in 3D design, modeling, and facility layout development.
- Proficiency in the creation and updating of P&IDs;, PFDs, isometric drawings, and plot plans.
- Robust knowledge of piping design principles, piping specifications, and industrial facility layouts.
- Familiarity with pumps, compressors, tanks, and associated mechanical systems.
- General understanding of structural steel design and detailing.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Navisworks, ProCad, and Plant 3D is a strong asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid Class 5 driver license and ability to travel for client meetings or site activities.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
