Cobra Heavy Iron Ltd. is seeking an experienced Utility Operator to join our Kamloops-based team.

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

- Must currently reside in Kamloops, BC or the immediate surrounding area
- Applicants requiring relocation will not be considered
- Must provide a clean, non-restricted driver’s abstract
- Minimum 5 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience
- Strong, proven experience operating excavators
- Confident and capable operating dozers and other similar heavy equipment
- Experience with the safe loading, unloading, and movement of heavy equipment
- Mechanically inclined with a practical, hands-on understanding of equipment care and maintenance
- Able to take direction, follow instructions accurately, and communicate effectively
- Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently when required
- Strong attention to detail and a dependable work ethic

About the Position

This is a hands-on position involving the operation, movement, loading, and care of heavy equipment while supporting a variety of utility, civil, and general construction projects.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working around active jobsites, operating multiple types of equipment, and assisting with equipment moves and day-to-day site operations as required.

A strong mechanical aptitude is key for this role. The Utility Operator will be expected to complete daily equipment inspections, identify potential mechanical concerns, perform basic troubleshooting, and assist with minor maintenance when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate company-owned heavy equipment
- Operate excavators, dozers, and other similar machinery
- Complete utility and civil excavation work as required
- Safely load, unload, move,



and position equipment
- Assist with equipment hauling and mobilization when required
- Perform daily pre-use, pre-trip, and post-operation inspections
- Identify and report equipment deficiencies or mechanical concerns
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors, dispatch, crew members, and other site personnel
- Follow directions accurately and complete assigned work efficiently
- Maintain equipment in a clean and professional condition
- Assist with general site operations and other duties as required

Assets

The following experience is considered an asset but is not required:

- Dump truck operating experience
- Lowbed or equipment hauling experience
- Previous experience in utility construction
- Civil construction or earthworks experience
- Experience working around multiple crews, contractors, and active jobsites
- Additional equipment operating experience

This position is best suited to someone who is punctual, mechanically minded, safety-focused, productive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00-$45.00 per hour

Experience:

- Heavy equipment operation: 3 years (preferred)
- Dump Truck: 2 years (preferred)
- Lowbed: 2 years (preferred)
