Responsibilities
- Operate plow trucks equipped with snow removal attachments to clear roads, parking lots, and other designated areas efficiently and safely.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with dispatch or supervisors to prioritize routes and respond promptly to changing weather conditions.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on plow trucks and related equipment, including automotive repairs when necessary.
- Assist with the operation of additional heavy machinery such as forklifts or other fleet vehicles as required for snow removal tasks.
- Maintain detailed logs of work performed, equipment usage,
and any incidents or issues encountered during shifts.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues during operations.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as plow trucks, skid steers, or similar machinery.
- Ability to perform automotive repairs or basic maintenance on heavy equipment is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and winter weather conditions.
- Prior experience in snow removal or winter road and parking lot maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, shoveling, and prolonged periods of standing or operating machinery.
