Development Director – River Lions Foundation

Part-Time | 25–30 Hours/Week | $25.00/Hour
Potential to Grow into Full time

The River Lions Foundation is looking for an organized, professional, and motivated Development Director to help manage and grow the Foundation.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is a solid writer, highly organized, comfortable working independently, and good at turning ideas into action. You'll be involved in everything from grants and fundraising to donor relationships, our 50/50 program, Board administration, and the day-to-day organization of the Foundation.

As the Foundation grows, we expect this position to grow with it.

What You'll Do

- Research funding opportunities and write grant applications and reports.
- Manage grant deadlines, requirements, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate and manage the Foundation's 50/50 draw program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Help identify new fundraising, sponsorship, and revenue opportunities.
- Coordinate Board meetings, including agendas, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up.
- Maintain Foundation records and assist with CRA charitable and administrative requirements.
- Complete basic bookkeeping and maintain organized financial records.
- Keep the Foundation's website current and accurate.
- Assist with fundraising campaigns, community events, donor communications, and sponsorship initiatives.
- Help develop the Foundation's fundraising and development activities as the organization continues to grow.
- Take on other projects and responsibilities that naturally come with helping run a growing charitable organization.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

- Is an excellent writer and communicator.
- Is extremely organized and pays attention to the details.

- Can manage multiple projects and deadlines without needing constant supervision.
- Is professional and comfortable communicating with donors, sponsors, Board members, businesses, and community partners.
- Takes initiative and isn't afraid to figure things out.
- Is comfortable with Microsoft Office, online systems, and learning new technology.
- Has experience in fundraising, grants, sponsorships, nonprofit administration, communications, business administration, or a related field.

Experience with grant writing, charitable organizations, Boards of Directors, bookkeeping, website management, or donor databases would be an asset.

Relevant education is an asset, but we're equally interested in candidates with strong practical experience and the right skill set.

The Position

This position will initially be approximately 25–30 hours per week at $25.00/hour.

Our intention is for the role to have the potential to grow into a full-time position as the Foundation and its fundraising activities expand.

Some flexibility will be required for Board meetings, Foundation events, fundraising initiatives, and occasional evening or weekend activities.

If you're organized, can write exceptionally well, enjoy building relationships, and like the idea of helping grow a charitable organization rather than simply maintaining what's already there, we'd like to hear from you.
