Part-Time Maintenance Helper

Gibsons Garden Hotel is looking for a reliable and hands-on Part-Time Maintenance Helper to join our team for approximately 4–6 months.

This is a good chance for someone with basic construction, renovation, landscaping, or maintenance experience. The main work will include installing door locks, painting interior doors, minor repairs, landscaping, cleanup, and helping with small renovation projects.

For someone who is reliable and does good-quality work, there may be an opportunity to stay on as a regular staff member with more hours.

Responsibilities

● Help install hotel door locks and hardware

● Paint interior doors and frames

● Complete minor repairs and maintenance

● Help with small renovation projects

● Perform basic landscaping and grounds maintenance

● Mow lawns, trim edges, remove weeds, and maintain garden areas as needed

● Help with seasonal cleanup and outdoor property maintenance

● Measure and cut materials as needed

● Use hand and power tools safely

● Keep work areas clean and organized





● Other general maintenance duties as needed

Qualifications

● Some maintenance, construction, renovation, landscaping, or painting experience preferred

● Comfortable using hand and power tools

● Skill saw/circular saw experience required

● Basic landscaping and groundskeeping experience is an asset

● Able to take accurate measurements

● Reliable and detail-oriented

● Able to follow instructions and work independently

● Willing to learn

● Able to lift, bend, stand, and perform general maintenance and landscaping work

● Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions

Schedule

● Part-time

● Flexible hours

● Approximately 4–6-month project

● Potential for more hours and ongoing employment for the right candidate

Work Location: Gibsons Garden Hotel, Gibsons, BC

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
