Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Skilled Security Guards in Hawkesbury On Canada.

Position Summary
The Security Professional – Patient Watch is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors within a healthcare facility. This role involves continuous monitoring of assigned patients to ensure their safety, prevent harm, and provide support in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Mandatory Vaccination & Health Requirements

Candidates must be able to provide the required documentation and complete an attestation for the following:

- Mantoux Test (Tuberculosis)
- Measles (Rougeole) – proof of vaccination or serology
- Mumps (Oreillons) – proof of vaccination or serology
- Rubella (German Measles) – proof of vaccination or serology
- Varicella (Chickenpox) – proof of vaccination or serology
- COVID-19 Vaccination – at least one dose is mandatory
- Hepatitis B – highly recommended, but not mandatory
- Influenza (Flu) Vaccination – highly recommended, but not mandatory

Key Responsibilities

- Provide continuous observation of assigned patient(s) as directed by hospital staff.




- Maintain a safe environment by monitoring patients and helping prevent self-harm, elopement, or disruptive behaviour.
- Maintain a calm, skilled, and respectful presence at all times.
- Accurately document observations, incidents, and relevant patient behaviours.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, hospital personnel, and supervisors regarding changes in patient behaviour or condition.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
- Follow all hospital policies, confidentiality requirements, security procedures, and applicable protocols.
- Assist with de-escalation when required, using approved techniques and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Must have access to a personal vehicle.
- Previous healthcare security or patient-watch experience is considered an asset.
- Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
- Professional demeanour and strong conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare and security team.
