Property Valet is hiring a full-time AI-Native Product Engineer whose primary focus will be developing Hostworks, our technology-enabled vacation-rental management platform and service. This position is based in our Collingwood office.

You will take day-to-day ownership of the Hostworks codebase and help organize and execute its development roadmap, working closely with the founders and Property Valet’s operating team. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable building with AI and turning fast-moving product development into reliable production software.

About Property Valet and HostWorks

Property Valet is an established vacation-rental management company operating more than 350 properties across Canada and now Mexico.

Hostworks is being developed and tested within Property Valet, giving the platform a real operating environment, active users and immediate feedback from the people using it every day. We already have a functioning MVP, an active sales team and clients using the service as we build the next generation of the platform.

Hostworks brings together property information, reservations, calendars, owner financials, guest communication, onboarding and operational workflows through one connected experience.

The Role

You will join Property Valet with a primary focus on Hostworks engineering and product development.

Hostworks is founder-led, and its founders will remain directly involved in product strategy, architecture, design and development. Members of our internal team also use controlled AI development tools to build and improve smaller areas of the platform. You will work closely with these contributors to turn that work into secure, secure and maintainable production software. This includes reviewing and improving AI-generated code, resolving bugs, integrating contributions from other team members and helping translate product priorities into a clear development roadmap. You will also own the technical process of bringing Hostworks to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This includes preparing and testing production builds, managing the submission and review process,



responding to store feedback and overseeing future application releases and updates. Our team works collaboratively, builds quickly and tests against the needs of a real operating business. You will bring technical ownership and sound engineering judgment to that process while staying closely connected to the founders, internal contributors and people using the platform.

Responsibilities

- Take day-to-day ownership of the Hostworks codebase.
- Build and improve features using AI-enabled development workflows.
- Review, test and strengthen AI-generated code.
- Diagnose and resolve bugs across the application.
- Improve performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Help organize and execute the development roadmap with the founders.
- Integrate work created by the founders and internal team.
- Build and maintain third-party API integrations.
- Strengthen automated testing, documentation and release processes.
- Manage branches, pull requests and production releases.
- Work with our independent security partner on architecture, access controls and production security.
- Collaborate with Property Valet’s operating team to understand workflows and turn feedback into product improvements.
- Provide clear visibility into progress, blockers and completed work.

Our Technology

The current platform uses React, TypeScript, Supabase and PostgreSQL, along with server-side functions and integrations with several third-party operating platforms.

Hostworks connects with property management and channel distribution platforms, CRM and onboarding tools, guest communication systems, accounting and payment platforms, pricing tools and operational software. These connections use APIs,



webhooks and emerging technologies such as MCP.

You will help maintain these integrations while progressively bringing more of the user experience and workflows into Hostworks.

Experience with every part of the stack is not required, but you should be comfortable learning quickly and taking responsibility for production software.

What We Are Looking For

- Experience building full-stack web applications.
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with React and modern web development practices.
- Experience working with databases, APIs, authentication and permissions.
- Comfort using AI coding agents and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Ability to understand, review and improve code created with AI.
- Good judgment around testing, security and production releases.
- Clear communication and the ability to collaborate with both technical and nontechnical team members.
- An adaptable working style and a focus on practical outcomes.
- Comfort working within a founder-led product vision while raising technical concerns and recommending improvements constructively.

A computer science or related degree is preferred but not required. We welcome experienced engineers, recent graduates and self-taught developers who can demonstrate strong technical ability, judgment and an understanding of AI-enabled software development.
